I am a graduate of The American School in London and attended Tufts University in Boston, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. I spent a decade in marketing as an award-winning art director for various firms such as McGraw-Hill and Ogilvy & Mather. After volunteer work in a Lower East Side NY middle school, I changed careers by enrolling in a one-year program at the University of Pennsylvania. During that year I earned a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, taught 3rd grade in West Philadelphia, worked as a freelance designer, and gave birth to my daughter! Since then I have worked as a teacher at levels from kindergarten through high school, undergraduate, and graduate school. A few years after completing my Master’s, I returned to Penn to work on my doctorate. My research was on Educational Leadership in Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum. Now an independent educational consultant, I work with traditional public schools and charters, as well as American and international independent schools. My passion is to act as an educational change agent, contributing what I can to reform our educational system to one that actually creates an environment where students want to  learn.

I am currently offering consultations and workshops on Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching. These services range from introductory training on the Framework and observation skills,  to conducting professional conversations and creating high-level evaluation systems.

I am also the Director of Education for Small World Travel, a division of Brownell. Specializing in Round the World voyages for families, I provide educational consultation and curriculum services thematically inspired by the countries they are exploring. Read more about this work …
